In this episode we will look at two stories from Texas about events honoring Vietnam Veterans. The first story comes from the Lufkin News titled: 50th Anniversary Vietnam War commemorative events planned for Lake Sam Rayburn fishing tournament. It talks about two fishing tournaments scheduled to be held on Sam Rayburn Lake with the main purpose of honoring Vietnam Veterans. They have created a special commemorative fishing rod to honor the occasion.
Those interested in participating in the tournaments can register online at www.outdoorfreedom.net/patriots-challenge-1.html.
If you are interested in purchasing a commemorative rod from McCain High Performance Rods for a Vietnam Veteran or donating one to a Veteran you can contact Terry Sympson of Outdoor Freedom Network at (936) 872-9266 or Roy James American Legion Post 78 Jasper at (409) 698-4089 or Greg Thames Post 113 Lufkin at (936) 707-0148.
The other story has to do with Vietnam Veterans health history. It comes from The History of Science Society and tells about a conference to be held in San Antonio that issues a Call For Papers: A Medical History of the Vietnam War. They are collecting information on the history of medicine in the Vietnam War.
