In this episode, an article from the Bristol Press titled: Prime Time: In the Briar Patch, ‘all the guys suffered’ submitted by Bob Montgomery is featured. It tells about William L. Shankel, a former Vietnam POW, who spoke at a gathering at the former Marinelli’s restaurant in Burlington. Shankel’s story is an amazing recounting of the bravery the POW’s showed just to survive the harsh conditions they were subjected to by their North Vietnamese captors.
