This episode of the podcast will take a look at how Vietnam Veterans are being honored in Oregon. The episode is dedicated to the memory of Gary Long. He was a Cobra gunship pilot who flew with your pod-caster in A Battery, 4/77 FA (ARA), 101st Airborne Division. Gary was an Oregon resident who recently passed away.
Steve Bates has been a resident in Boring for 46 years and is a Life Member of the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America and an Honorary Life Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He reported that plans for a Vietnam War Memorial on the Oregon State Capitol Grounds have been approved. All that is needed to proceed with construction is adequate funding.
