Episode 3231 of the Vietnam Veteran News Podcast will feature a story about how the people of Bucks County, PA are honoring their fallen Vietnam Vets. The featured story appeared on the Reporter website and is titled: Bucks County will dedicate six more bridges for Vietnam Veterans in 2026.

It was reported the Pennsylvania Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (PAVVMF) is once again ensuring that the courage and sacrifice of America’s Vietnam heroes are never forgotten. In partnership with Bucks County, the organization will dedicate six bridges between April and October to honor local servicemen who gave their lives during the Vietnam War. These ceremonies, held in communities such as Andalusia, Chalfont, Doylestown, Levittown, and Warminster, stand as powerful reminders of the price of freedom and the extraordinary bravery of those who served.

Each of the six honorees represents the very best of our nation—young men who answered the call to serve and paid the ultimate price. Among them are US Army Corporal John Michael Lyons, lost in an ambush in 1968; US Navy Lieutenant William Charles Vasey, killed by enemy fire in 1971; and US Army Sergeant Robert Post Hampton, who died in combat the same year. Others, like Hospitalman William James Barr, who succumbed to malaria, and Sergeant Charles Paul Montross, lost in a tragic friendly fire incident, remind us that sacrifice in war takes many forms.

These Vietnam Veterans embodied duty, courage, and selflessness. While many returned home to little recognition, those who never made it back left behind a legacy of honor that continues to inspire generations. The bridge dedications symbolize more than remembrance—they serve as lasting connections between communities and the heroes who defended them.

Through efforts like these, the greatness of Vietnam Veterans—especially those who died in service—will forever be remembered, cherished, and honored.
